Instant Summer League

July 10th, 2009 Jeremy Schmidt

Frank is live blogging the Bucks summer league over at Brew Hoop.  Since David Thorpe called it a night before the Bucks got started (sigh) Frank has zero competition here.  Good stuff.

I just really want to see Joe or BJ have a big game...it seems like Vegas has been a perpetual buzzkill for us. I can't emphasize enough how not fun it is to watch Anthony Randolph put up 20/10 without even trying out here.

It certainly is nice to get a win, summer league or not. I don't know how I feel about Amir Johnson apparently taking some 20 foot jump shots, but it's good to see Meeks scoring efficiently and Jennings being aggressive. I wouldn't care if Jennings shot under 30% in summer league as long as he was playing confidently and aggressively. Remember last summer Alexander was tentative and to be polite, bad in summer league. If guys carry themselves like they are supposed to be there I'm happy.

David Thorpe's leaving was just further proof that ESPN and the rest of the national media gives undue favor to the front runners. The only reason the Grizzlies and Clippers get attention is because Bill Simmons makes fun of their GM's. Give us more coverage of teams like Indiana, Charlotte, and yes, Milwaukee.

That said, I would love to know your thoughts on the first Vegas game.
