I think the should start Maggette. And switch Delfino to the 6th Man. Coming in for Salmons and Maggette, he would do great at that!!!

you didn’t even mention Larry Sanders. Plus, you really think Delfino is ugly? My wife goes out of her way to tell me she would leave me in a heartbeat if Delfino came knocking on our door.

Anyways, I generally agree that we have a lot of potential “groups” on the floor, which is why I feel so excited for this season. With Skiles propensity to, as said, “micromanage” players’ minutes, we seem to have specific roles that each group can perform depending on game situation.

Agree with palomba, Delfino may see time at 2 as well, especially if CD-R proves to not always be a reliable defender. This gives Skiles options, if nothing else. I’ve said this before, but this season really looks like it will be a real test of Skiles’ ability to manage a roster. His lineups may end up defining themselves, but it’s sure not obvious yet. I expect we’ll see him juggling minutes a lot at the start of the season, trying to see who plays well together. Looking forward to it!

Delfino can play either the 2 or the 3 position. In fact, in last FIBA Worlds he played as a SG most of the time. So, maybe what Skiles is thinking for him is a sort of a complementary role for his two scorers: Salmons or Maggette. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it would be easier to find Delfino in court with either Salmons or Maggette, than these last two playing together.

I hope Delfino starts, but Maggette sees a lot of time off the bench. I see him having a role much like Crawford in Atlanta. Scoring 20 a game as a starter would be expected from Maggette, but 20 as a 6th man would open some eyes around the league.
