Charles Gardner caught up with Corey Maggette following Tuesday’s loss against the Bulls. Gardner asked Maggette to grade his time with the team thusfar, to which Maggette replied, “If I had to grade it, I’d grade it an F. I’m just going to be honest. We’ve still got a lot of time. We’ve still got to stay positive.” That’s not all, “It’s hard not to take it personal, but as a professional athlete you can’t…It’s kind of a situation where everyone is a rookie. You know how they treat rookies? One day you’re up, the next day you’re down,” Maggette continued. It’s hard to imagine any Bucks player having a high morale right now, but Maggette seems particularly desolate. Hard to jump to conclusions from a fans perspective, but the team may be facing more issues than just their offense.
Steve Aschbumer also was in the locker room after the Bucks loss last night. His piece in reference to it, is just as bleak. Aschbumer said that CDR could be heard chuckling when he overheard the media ask Bogut how the new players were fitting in, and that CDR is, “one of those new guys, not happy with his role.” The one positive thing to take out of this article is that the Bucks are now exactly where they were last year 30 games in, at 12-18. Can the Bucks turn it around again in the new year?
Zach Lowe from SI.com makes the case that Jennings injury doesn’t make the team any worse. Lowe crushes the Bucks in this piece, stating “Their effective field-goal percentage of 44.7 — which adjusts to properly value three-point shots — would be the worst for any team since the league banned hand-checking altogether.” Lowe referenced statistics that will make Bucks fans cringe. The teams eFG% is the same as the 98-99 Vancouver Grizzlies, a team that won 8 out of 50 games. Yep, it’s that bad.
