Buck Hits: RUMORS!
Draft day eve brings two major waves throughout the blogosphere. Mock drafts and trade rumors. For what has been called a weak draft, 2011 is not disappointing in the “size of the wave”. And while we’re not talking about Josh Smith/Dwight Howard tag teams, there has been significant scuttlebutt surrounding the Bucks, a team that doesn’t typically get a ton of media coverage.
Dave Heller at JSOnline has a pretty massive mock draft roundup on the Bucks blog. Of the 23 mock drafts Heller found, Burks was the Bucks selection at #10 43.5% of the time, as of yesterday at least. Below are the selections and the number of votes they received.
- Alec Burks – 10 votes
- Klay Thompson – 5 votes
- Marcus Morris – 2 votes
- Jan Vesely – 1 vote
- Jimmer Fredette – 1 vote
- Dontana Motiejuna – 1 vote
- Jonas Valanciunas – 1 vote
- Tristan Thompson – 1 vote
- Bismack Biyombo – 1 vote
Bill Ingram at HoopsHype is reporting that the Raptors, Rockets, and Wolves are all interested in Andrew Bogut. For the first time in his tenure in Milwaukee, it feels like the Bucks brass are really listening to Bogut offers this year.
Houston isn’t just interested in Bogut, says Gery Woelfel. The Bucks have discussed a deal with the Rockets that would revolve around swapping the Bucks #10 pick for the Rockets #14 & #23 picks. Ersan Ilyasova’s name has also been mentioned in the deal, who is reportedly looking to move back overseas (translator needed). With Marshon Brooks getting another look from Milwaukee, are the Bucks preparing to move down in the draft?
Looking for even more Bucks trade rumors? Brew Hoop has a roundup all of the Milwaukee based rumors that have made their rounds online.
One player the Bucks are looking to hang onto, at least for one more year is Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who received his qualifying offer this week. The Bucks can now match any offer from any other team, although for chemistry’s sake I hope Miami doesn’t offer Moute a deal a la Charlie Bell.
Players aren’t the only ones who can garner rumors, right? Bucks Assistant Coach Jim Boylan interviewed with the Phoenix Suns for an assistant coaching position, says Gery Woelfel.
