@DarvinHam this is definitely the season to lose, u can blame it on shortened season, no practice time, injuries, etc. I agree wit Darvin winning just enough to make playoffs as a best case scenario is not worth it. "tanking" this year is their best option, it's a deep draft class with alot of talent in the top 5-8 players and a few can't miss NBA players. This is the year to lose, if possible they need to trade Ersan hopefully package Jack with him. Ersan is going to leave anyway might as well get something for it and lose more games (better for future)

A 5 to 7 seed is best case scenario though, and not that likely to happen. Most likely, we're going to be the 9th or 10th seed in the East, which means no playoffs and absolutely no chance at winning the lottery--this is the worst position to be in, and we're there every year. We'll end up drafting somewhere in the 10-15 range, so, in the land of projects, like usual. It's true that tanking will turn off the fans initially, but if we start to get some high pick talent, the fans will come back. Everyone loves a new rookie with potential.

And, I don't want to finish in the 5-7 seed purgatory. The goal every year is to win the championship, not to be fodder for the first round, a tune-up for a championship-calibre team.

We may be in 5 to 7 seed purgatory, but I don't understand why everyone is so anxious to trade that in for pure hell. Loosing fan base will not help build this franchise any faster. If we have the absolute worst record in the NBA, that gets us some more ping pong balls and probably the 4th draft pick. Getting 4th pick does not guarantee anything. It's going to take time to develop this player, assuming this player is able to make it in the NBA at all. Still need 12 more players. And what have we got? Hopefully, we've got one good player and we can finish in 5 to 7 seed purgatory.

Is it wrong to want them to lose, though? With this roster, our absolute ceiling is a 7 seed (with a healthy Bogut, that may bump up to a 5 seed). If we keep winning, we're just lowering our odds at the bouncing lottery balls. We've been in low-seed, low-lottery percentage purgatory for 10 years.
