Harris, Sanders, draft picks highlight Bucks’ Summer League roster

Today, GM John Hammond announced the 2012 Roster for the Bucks’ Summer League, slated to take place in Las Vegas from July 16-22.  The Bucks’ most recent draft picks John Henson and Doron Lamb will be there, as well as current Bucks players Tobias Harris and Larry Sanders.

The Bucks are high on all four players, but the expectations, one would imagine, will be different.

Henson and Lamb will be judged on how their skillsets translate to the NBA level (albeit not a very high one) and how they will be able to contribute.  Sanders and Harris will be judged on how they have taken what they’ve learned in their brief careers thus far and implemented that into offseason improvements.  It will be interesting to see how Harris and Sanders handle being the only returning pros on the Bucks’ roster, but hopefully they take this opportunity and run with it and take their games to a much more beneficial level.

Harris should get reigns to show what he can do as a scorer after flashing unique scoring abilities in limited minutes during the regular season last year. He did not have a summer league last season due to hte lockout.

Other players with pro experience include Andy Rautins, Aaron Miles, and Tarence KinseyThe rest of the roster filled out with all rookies.

The Bucks’ first two summer league games feature matchups against two top-five picks from last week’s draft.  The Bucks will face the New Orleans Hornets and first overall pick Anthony Davis (though he’s nursing a sprained ankle) on the 16th and the Washington Wizards and third overall pick Bradley Beal on the 18th. The Bucks round out their schedule with games against the NBA D-League on the 19th, Boston on the 21st, and Chicago on the 22nd.
