Squad Six, the rambunctious groupof fans that has stood in section 212 for every Milwaukee Bucks home game over the past two seasons and the brainchild of former Bucks center Andrew Bogut appears to live on. The Squad posted a message on its Facebook page Wednesday:

Are you interested in joining this year’s version of Squad 6? Tryouts will be on Saturday, Oct. 20th. The player sponsoring the section will be Ersan Ilyasova. More details tomorrow.

Unfamiliar with Squad Six? Peep the video. They’re a group of fans that attend every game. It’s quite a commitment and tryouts are held to fill the spots. In previous years, Bogut along with a panel of judges would watch individual auditions and then announce who made the cut. By the end of last season numbers had dwindled quite a bit as enthusiasm around the team waned.

A new year brings new hope, apparently a new sponsor and probably some new faces.

Good on Ersan for becoming the new face of the fans and good on the Bucks for keeping this thing alive.

He might come off as a bit negative, but I'm really not so bad. He just wants the Bucks to succeed, so he points out areas where they are coming up short. Someone has got to do it and he's ornery and opinionated enough to take on that task. He isn't sure if this should be in third person or not. Gotta love seeing this continue. It’s a pretty unique thing in sports and I for one would hate to see it go. Maybe the people that sit behind or near them wouldn’t miss it so much, but that’s another topic for another day.

It took some people by surprise in the first year, but by now everyone is aware of section 212. For every person that doesn’t want to sit near Squad 6 there is another one that does.

I sit in 213 every time I’m lucky enough to attend. If you’re going to a game, you might as well sit in the cheering section, right?

That’s really great that Ersan has taken this on. Squad 7 … I LOVE IT!
