Yeah, is Drew that bad in practice or does Skiles think his personality allows other young players to get play time while not damaging the psyche of Drew & Joel.

It's a long season and injuries on our team or some other team may change the future of Drew. His $6M is not a bad contract and shouldn't be a huge factor either way.

Yeah! I challenge just about anyone to show me a team with a better bench. I still laugh at the fact that Doc Rivers before the season began said, "The Bucks will be a team that I won't look forward to facing (paraphrasing a little)" and we beat them up good the first game of the year!

I kinda wonder if Scott Skiles is paying Drew Gooden not to play or if he's just fallen that far down the depth. Maybe a trade in the works to whoever wants to take on a large contract?

Yuck, what an awful finish.

The bad news is we could have played a lot better.
The good news is we could have played a lot better.

This team has a lot of potential, and it amazes me how our bench is seemingly better than our starters on a given night. I haven't decided if this is good or bad yet.

"If he does not make his shots, then he is essentially useless on the offensive end"

hmmmm well he is a good passer, a good rebounder, sets good screens, and unless he continues to shoot 25% for months defenders will have to follow him to the perimeter so he spreads the floor. So yea, you're wrong.

It was a great game from Monta up until the end when he started to play hero ball. Otherwise he worked pretty well within the flow of the offense. Its easily observable that this team plays better (back-ups and starters) when movement on the offensive end increases. You could see it when Beno, Mike, Udoh, Lamb, and Henson made a run in the second. Jellings are at times just as guilty of stopping the offensive flow as they are of creating it.
Luckily its something that can be changed so hopefully that happens.

Actually, I think Ersan is great at the rim, putting back offensive rebounds. Part of his struggle is that he's not playing under the rim as he should. Last year he played with Gooden, who probably was out around the perimeter allowing Ersan to get better position. Now we have a couple of others that are playing center position in the paint. It's a team adjustment and hopefully it will come together for everyone. Too soon to write him off, but putting in the guys getting it done is okay with me.

When the Bucks are playing well and moving the ball, they are getting inside. They may throw up a bricked jump shot, but I think they are doing much more than that. It was a bad finish and there was plenty of blame to go around.

The Bucks have themselves to blame for Ilyasova's poor performance. to start off the front office gambled signing a non-prototypical power forward to a five year 40$ million deal. Ersan is not a back to the basket player as he gets most of his offense from the perimeter. If he does not make his shots, then he is essentially useless on the offensive end.

It does not help that the Bucks have a starting backcourt that essentially dominates the ball. Both Jennings and Ellis play mostly from the perimeter not allowing proper spacing for Ilyasova to use his strengths offensively by spreading the defense. Since there is no real post presence for the Bucks, defenses just hover around the perimeter waiting for a bricked jump shot by Milwaukee.
