Advanced statistics are great but they dont capture everything. Agree to disagree.

O and yes LA has Nash who is 38 and Steve Blake who is out for a while. IF we dont plan to resign Jennings in the offseason than any return on him is better than nothing.

LA already has Nash at the point and Ellis has explicitly stated that he does not want to be a 6th man. LA also does not have anything to offer the Bucks, Gasol is good but he would only further complicate the logjam at the 4 and developing these young PF’s is probably what is most important for Milwaukee’s future.

All advanced statistics say Brandon is slightly better than Monta. Higher PER, Better O-rating and D-rating better Efg% TS% and Win Shares Also Monta has 4 more years in the league and has only made the playoffs 1 time in the “We Believe” GS team and they were stacked. Brandon is a better leader than Monta and a better face of the franchise. Neither player should be the best player on a team though

@Ted, you dont think a team like LA would be have high interest in either of these guys right now?

At the beginning of the season I thought bj3 was more valuable to the Bucks but as the season has gone on its clear that he is not.
-Ellis runs the point guard position better than brandon
-Ellis draws more fouls
-Ellis has a MUCH better career fg% than brandon (46% vs 39%!!!)
-both are athletic, but Ellis has elite athleticism
-Ellis has the edge on creating his own shot and shot selection (though both are questionable)
-Ellis is slightly taller

The only thing Brandon really does better is shoot 3s.

This all begs the question: could Ellis play pg full time?

They’re basically the same player Monta is better getting to the rim Jennings shoots from outside better Monta draws fouls at a much much higher rate than Brandon. Jennings tries harder on the defensive end but neither player has much to offer on the defensive end aside from quick hands. I’d say Jennings is more valuable since he actually has stated that he wants to be in Milwaukee and is a more marketable player than Monta Ellis and is 4 years younger so he makes alot more sense to lock up long term than Monta. It’s interesting that each player does better without the other on the court…

As far as the return, virtually nothing if it’s Jennings and if it’s Ellis probably not much more. Don’t count on either being traded unless the team starts doing considerably worse than they currently are this year and is starting to look like the 9th team in the East.

Question. Which of the two (Ellis or Jennings) is more crucial to the Bucks future? I’m leaning towards Jennings, but do you think he’s going to sign with Milwaukee long term?

And if we were to trade one–what do you think we’re looking at in return?

Seems cohesive to me.

And can’t tell if they are winning or losing, they are so level-headed.

If I can like them in red, I guess I’m hooked.

No weak spots to exploit. I just watch, and expect things to work in their favor. They need no changes in order to go far through playoffs. Monta still shooting from reasonable distance.

A good evening of basketball for people who don’t have to get excited to appreciate.

1) No. I don’t think the Bucks will have an All-Star. They don’t have the fan base or stars to get voted in and no one is playing well enough to be picked by the coaches.

2) The only way to trade him is if the Bucks are willing to take another horrible contract back. Best case scenario would be if a contending team became desperate for front court help and decided to take a chance on Gooden. There’s also the option of amnestying him in the offseason.

1) Do you think a Buck will make the All-Star team and if so, who? (If anyone, I’d have to say Brandon has the “best” chance)

2) What do you think we’ll do with Gooden? Him being trade bait sounds about right, but what do you see playing out? (I’ve heard Beasley is unhappy in Phoenix…)

3) How’d you get this gig? Seriously.
