Brandon Jennings named Eastern Conference player of the week…again.

Brandon Jennings has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, and discussions of him being elite finally have some footing and that’s pretty cool.

Jennings was a large part of the Milwaukee Bucks 3-1 week, headlined by multiple comebacks in games which the Bucks found themselves down by double digits early at Chicago and Toronto.  Jennings shined in the Chicago victory, scoring 20 points (12 of those from behind the arc) in the third quarter after having enough of Nate Robinson’s antics.

Jennings averaged 24.5 ppg on 48 percent shooting to go along with 6.5 apg and 4.0 rpg for the week.  One would be foolish to expect these numbers to continue, but Jennings has shown a somewhat consistent amount of energy under Boylan, which is encouraging, even if it appears that we’re grabbing at any straw we can with him at this point.  HE EVEN SHOWED SOME DEFENSIVE PESKINESS AND DOVE TO THE FLOOR ONCE IN THE TORONTO GAME!  Brandon Jennings.  Diving.  I know.  It’s crazy.

Jennings beat out Indiana’s David West, Brooklyn’s Deron Williams, and Orlando’s Nikola Vucevic for the award.  This was Brandon’s second time winning the award, with the first time being after a wild opening week for the Bucks, capped off by him nailing a buzzer-beater to defeat Cleveland in the home opener.

  1. speaking of “feelgoodery,” this from bucks.com:
” With three Player of the Week winners already, the Bucks are tied with the Miami Heat (LeBron James – 3) and Oklahoma City Thunder (Kevin Durant – 3) for most in the NBA this season.”
    pretty amusing…

  2. That is great news! Brandon deserves the recognition. He’s had a fantastic week. This can only be encouraging for everyone on the Bucks team. Now show the Lakers fans just how good you are tomorrow night.

    Go Bucks!

  3. What’s up with all the snarky and cocky lines, “One would be foolish to expect these numbers to continue”?? Relax kid.
