The Milwaukee Bucks are roughly five weeks away from the NBA Trade Deadline on February 21. In these next five weeks, the Bucks play 7 games on the road (POR, CLE, DET, NYK, DEN, UTAH, BKN) and 8 at home (PHI, GS, CHI, ORL, DET, WAS, PHI, BKN). With a lot of winnable games in that stretch, it seems unlikely to me that this will be a “selling” team at the deadline. The Bucks are currently 7th in the Eastern Conference, 3 games behind both the three seed and first place in the Central Division. They are 4 1/2 games out of the 9th seed. Barring a major collapse, this will be a playoff team. Get the bubbly ready. Here’s your recap of the previous week.
It seems that Scott Skiles wanted out of Milwaukee this summer in order to pursue a position with the Orlando Magic. Of course he did.
Marquis Daniels gave Bucks.com a tour of his van. It’s a very large van. More like a NOT-minivan amiright!? It has “party lights” and a bed in the back and his children love it.
There were a couple notable things from Steve von Horn of Brew Hoop this week. One, he started a series that will look at and chart every Sanders’ blocked shot. It’s pretty great and worth your time. Two, he released volume 5 of his lineup pyramids! It turns out that the Bucks are still very inefficient.
Finally, Kevin Pelton of ESPN.com ran 1,000 simulations of the rest of the season to predict how the Eastern Conference standings will finish. The Bucks aren’t predicted to be in the top-5, but they did grab the 2nd seed in one of the simulations. SO YOU’RE SAYING THERE’S A CHANCE?!
