You may have heard about the Milwaukee Bucks’ brand new court design. You also may have heard that the Bucks changed the court’s surface. And now, you’re hearing that the new court was unfit for play Friday night, causing the cancellation of Milwaukee’s last preseason game after just six minutes of basketball.

With the Bucks up 14-9, after at least three players slipped on the slick surface of Milwaukee’s new court, the refs, the Raptors and the Bucks decided they had seen enough. Preseason basketball isn’t worth risking injury, especially when players are ending up in positions as precarious as the one DeMar DeRozan is in above.

The court was painted in this cool time lapse video and was said to have some special features:

The floor has much improved shock absorption than earlier floors, with the potential to reduce injuries and fatigue for the players.

It definitely reduced fatigue on Friday. The Bucks will be very well rested before traveling to New York for Wednesday night’s opener.
