I spend most Milwaukee Bucks’ games exclusively watching either John Henson or Giannis Antetokounmpo (despite the clamoring of the Khris Middleton crowd, I do not care to watch him at all). I try not to pay attention to the ball or what the score of the game is. Those things will just make me depressed. And I can’t cheer for the tanking effort. Intellectually, I support it, but in practice, the entire thing has just been ruinous to my soul.
Tanking is a worthless exercise unless it can be proven that the front office has made some good decisions on their way to tanking. This is why the Charlotte Bobcats are never successful – Michael Jordan is just not good at building a team. But the Bucks are different. Every intuitive Antetokounmpo cut and every Henson hook shot show that even though the team is in a bad position, they have made good decisions along the way.
What to Watch For: Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki and Rick Carlisle didn’t attend the Dallas Mavericks’ shootaround today because they are ill. It is uncertain whether they will be at the game.
It almost isn’t worth saying that the Mavericks are terrible without Nowitzki, but to put it in perspective, per 100 possessions, the Mavericks are 22.4 points worse without Nowitzki. So yeah, depending on which side of the fan-tanking spectrum that you’re on, Nowitzki being out is either really good or terrible.
DeJuan Blair, Samuel Dalembert, and Bernard James seem like a just reward for John Henson after valiantly fighting the likes of Joakim Noah and Tim Duncan this week.

Jeremy’s For Recreational Purposes Only Prediction (aka Betsketball)
Line: Mavericks 10.5
Short and sweet tonight: Mavericks -10.5 and the under.
Record: 15-13 (5-9 ATS and 10-4 over/under)
Choose the Form of the Destructor: Monta Ellis
Monta Ellis. I’m not choosing Ellis because I think he’ll play well. I’m choosing him because he is my least favorite Bucks player. I dislike him immensely and I just want everyone to know it. Ellis has been performing rather well this year as both a scorer and creator for the Mavericks. Assuming Nowitzki is out, I hope that we can all enjoy a vintage Ellis performance on 3-21 shooting.
Prediction: Bucks 93 – Mavs 86
