What to Watch For: Bucks

The Bucks are in nearly the exact same situation as the last time they faced the Nuggets, coming off of a win and seeking their first winning streak of the season. In the last matchup, Denver took advantage of strong performances from Wilson ChandlerJJ Hickson, and Ty Lawson  to best a career effort by Larry Sanders and an otherwise competent effort from the Bucks. The rematch finds the Bucks without Sanders, who could very well be done for the season with an orbital bone break, and the Nuggets without Lawson, who is nursing a fractured rib.

Without Sanders, the Bucks will have to rely on the continued growth of Brandon Knight and Nate Wolters in the backcourt to provide both scoring and their (particularly Wolters’) developing distribution abilities. In particular, it’ll be worth watching to see if Wolters can continue his all-around contributions from Tuesday against Orlando (15 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists) and continue to develop confidence in his three-point shot (6/11 in his last 5 games).

On the plus side, O.J. Mayo should finally be returning from his bout of unidentified plague and apparent conditioning issues. So they got that going for them, which is nice.

What to Watch For: Nuggets

What I wrote about the Nuggets in my last Bucks vs. Nuggets preview still holds true, minus the part about Lawson as he won’t be playing. He’ll be replaced in the lineup by Randy Foye with Evan Fournier and Quincy Miller filling in the shooting guard slot. So, uh, take a look at that.

Don’t watch for Jordan Hamilton though. He was traded today. So if you bought tickets to this game to watch him, see if you can get a refund.
