As is his way, when asked about his game winning shot against the New York Knicks, Brandon Knight first gave glory to God. Then his teammates.

“I think my teammates did a great job tonight just persevering,” he said. “They made a lot of big shots towards the end, and our past habits have been to drop our head and to think, ‘Here we go again,’ but our team did a great job tonight just fighting through and seeing it through to the end.”

From the recap, here’s a bit more technical discussion of his final play.

“I didn’t want to get in a situation where they either switched it or trapped me at the end,” he said. “It’s better to go one on one from that point.

It’s happened a couple times in late game situations, where I’ll call a screen and they’ll either switch it or trap it and it puts our team in a bad situation. So for me, I remember that and I think that’s why the play was successful tonight.”

And finally, here’s what Giannis had to say.

“I made some mistakes at the end that can cost us the game, but Brandon was there,” he said. “The hero was there to knock down the shot, so we won.”

He might come off as a bit negative, but I'm really not so bad. He just wants the Bucks to succeed, so he points out areas where they are coming up short. Someone has got to do it and he's ornery and opinionated enough to take on that task. He isn't sure if this should be in third person or not.
