Jabari Parker might work.
Though it was, as Jeremy would remind us, only a practice game, the Bucks showed enough confidence in Jabari Parker this early in his young career to give him the ball in a late-game scenario while nursing a one-point lead. This was the result:
Parker took the handoff from John Henson, measured up Anthony Bennett, put a spin move on him, and dropped in a two-handed jam just ahead of a closing Gorgui Deng. When he was praised as one of the most NBA-ready participants in this year’s draft, this is the scenario many envisioned for Parker–the guy you can give the ball in crunch time and trust him to get you points. While he probably won’t consistently be that clutch performer this early in his career, this particular possession is another in the line of tantalizing glimpses into the talent that Parker is bringing to the Bucks.
